To age optimally, wine requires a balance of temperature and humidity. The temperature affects the rate of maturation while the right humidity keeps corks in good shape during the aging process. Dry corks crack and allow wine to oxidize. Excessively wet corks rot, causing the wine to become "corked".

Wine collectors agree that the ideal temperature for maturing fine wines is 55F-57F and that the humidity should be carefully balanced between 50%-70%.

WhisperKOOL achieves these optimum conditions by cooling the cellar slowly. As the temperature in the cellar begins to drop, the relative humidity will rise, creating the ideal environment for aging wine. WhisperKOOL incorporates an efficient environmental stabilization system in a compact, easy-to-install, self-contained unit. It is built in a variety of sizes for wine cellars, ranging from 300 to 2,000 cubic feet.

The unique difference between the WhisperKOOL system and traditional air-conditioning units is the maintenance of well-conditioned humidity. Traditional air-conditioning units are designed to cool air quickly; as a result, humidity is removed, leaving air dehydrated.

WhisperKOOL XLT Series

The WhisperKOOL XLT Series cooling units are specifically designed to maintain temperature and humidity within a properly designed wine cellar. The series consists of five dedicated cooling units for wine cellars ranging from 300 to 2,000 cubic feet.

These cooling units have been designed to fit between standard wall studs and are equipped with a rear flange which allows the units to be mounted through a wall without requiring a support shelf.

WhisperKOOL Extreme Series

The Extreme Series' ventilation system includes a quiet, professional grade, high performance fan system that optimizes airflow throughout the cellar. The powerful fan system ensures consistent wine cellar temperatures with minimal noise generation.

Engineered with oversized condenser and evaporator coils, a powerful ventilation system and a protective exterior housing, the Extreme Series is designed to vent to the outside in hot and freezing climates. The unit is designed to vent to the outside in climates where temperatures reach over 100 degrees. These units can also readily be vented into an adjacent indoor room when applicable.

The WhisperKOOL®Extreme Cooling System requires professional installation by a licensed refrigeration technician.

Liquid Measuring Probe
The unit accurately measures the temperature of wine in the cellar using a liquid temperature measuring probe. Measuring the temperature of a liquid is a more direct and accurate reflection of the temperature of the wines stored in the cellar than measuring the ambient cellar air.

Filter Change Lights for both Evaporator and Condenser
There are filters for both the evaporator and condenser. Individual indicator lights representing each filter will glow yellow when it is time to replace either one of them. The filters keep dirt particles from entering the units and accumulating on the evaporator and condenser coils.

High Heat Alarm
If the temperature on the back of the unit reaches 130°F, a red indicator light will turn on. The light shuts off once the temperature lowers to 100°F.

Temperature Control
This control enables the target wine temperature in the wine cellar to be set via the temperature of the liquid measured by the Liquid Measuring Probe. It is preset from the factory to 55°F, but can be adjusted to any temperature between 50°F and 76°F. A digital read-out displays the temperature in either Celsius or Fahrenheit.

Frost Prevention Setting to Prevent Coil Freezing
The unit contains a preset, automatic defrost feature that prevents any ice from building up on the coils. This allows the WhisperKool Extreme to operate effectively in demanding environments.

Refrigerant High Pressure Shut-Off
Automatic high pressure shut-off feature designed to protect the compressor from excessive head pressures. This protects the system in case there are any obstructions restricting air flow through the filters, duct or grille.

Low Ambient Control System
The system allows the condenser section (back of the unit) to be exposed to air temperatures as low as 0°F. It enables operation of the compressor and refrigerant systems when exposed to cold temperatures.

Remote Control Panel (optional)
The system's control panel can be mounted remotely; i.e. the control panel can be located separately from the cooling unit itself. This option provides unique flexibility for installing the Extreme Series cooling unit in your wine cellar.

Ducting and Ventilation Options
The ventilation system is ideal for ducting. The optional collars fit standard ventilation ducting allowing the installer to vent air to and from the unit for optimum performance (please see specifications for details).

The WhisperKOOL Split System Series combines state-of-the-art components with an elegantly simple engineering concept to offer ultra, quiet, sophisticated and efficient maintenance for an optimal wine cellar environment. The Split System is specifically designed and engineered for creating the ideal balance of temperature and humidity within a wine cellar.

The Split System offers the option of installing the evaporator inside and the condenser unit either indoors or outdoors.

The Split Cooling System includes both the evaporator and condenser units. An exterior mounted condenser package option is available for outdoor installations.

These purpose-built wine cellar cooling units are available in SS4000 or SS7000 models for cellar volumes up to 1000 cu. ft. and 1,750 cu. ft. respectively.

Indoor and Outdoor Condenser Installations
The Split System offers the option of installing the condenser unit indoors or outdoors. The system's flexibility in regard to installation and space requirements allows homebuilders and architects to incorporate the cooling system with the utmost ease.

Temperature Differential
The WhisperKOOL split system is designed with a 55-degree temperature differential. That means the unit can operate effectively even if the ambient temperature outside (or where ever the condenser unit is mounted) is a scorching 110 degrees. This is a significant improvement over most cooling units designed for wine storage.
